It seems to me that we have large newly constructed areas such as Stone Oak that were sold to people who did not realize what a congestion problem they were buying into.
If we provided more information that might improve the outcomes for future development.
What information am I talking about? Have a home buyers' web site that has a map showing areas where the arterial roads are adequate vs. inadequate for the platted developments. Have other maps showing walkability, mixed use vs. distances to shopping and schools, and transit hostile vs. transit supportive environments. This last would show as transit hostile the neighborhoods with one entrance and many cul de sacs where public transportation can not be operated efficiently.
