Main traffic problem relates to drivers

The MPO should seriously consider education of drivers in the Greater San Antonio Austin area. Everyone in this area gets on to any road and moves to the left most lane and drives usually about 20 miles below speed limit. "Slower Traffic Keep right" has no presence or significance in these two cities. Even government vehicles, large tractor trailers and public vehicles are culpable in this regard. The Police departments ...more »

Leave rural communities alone

I urge the MPO to consider the preservation of rural communities. Not everyone wants hike/bike trail along the roads they use on a daily basis. Some of us live in rural communities SPECIFICALLY to be away from these types of services. I urge the MPO to consider this and preserve the rural portions of the newly adopted counties. Please continue to make the urbanized areas as transportation friendly as possible and encourage ...more »

Connected, Regional Hike/bike trail plan

I would love to see a Regional hike/bike trail plan that would connect Austin to San Antonio. This could be have a huge positive economic impact for local communities, help to protect fragile Hill Country areas from over development and protect loss of wildlife habitat among many other benefits.

Appropriate land use through information

It seems to me that we have large newly constructed areas such as Stone Oak that were sold to people who did not realize what a congestion problem they were buying into. If we provided more information that might improve the outcomes for future development. What information am I talking about? Have a home buyers' web site that has a map showing areas where the arterial roads are adequate vs. inadequate for the platted ...more »

Public transportation through 10 and 281

To enhance the pollution control and decrease fossil gas consumption. Would it be better if the public transportation caters to the need outside of the loop. By creating a route along the main thoroughfare like 10, and 281 up to the border back to the downtown area. Where commuters can access.

bike lanes

do we need to wait until a cyclist is hit before re-installing the east and west bound bike lanes at 1604 and US 281 N. ? same thing on Evans near Green Mountain - why were the east / west bike lanes removed?

Nice job with the new Bulverde section from 1604 to Evans.

thanks

Old Wiederstein Road

We need walking/biking lanes on Old Wiederstein. This is a dangerous, narrow road for walkers and runners. There are some wonderful sidewalks in Schertz & Cibolo, but I have to drive to them to get there.

Improve public transit in San Antonio

What I'd like to see is for San Antonio to become a city like San Francisco or New York where it isn't necessary to own a car. We have a long way to go in terms of both transit systems and cultural attitudes before that can happen, if it ever does. Steps in that direction would include expanded bus service, streetcars, a light rail system that serves both downtown and outlying areas, and a marketing campaign to encourage ...more »
