I live in the Canyon Lake area and would like to see bike/walking/jogging paths integrated into any new road expansion. River Road is a very good example. Everyday there are a large number of cyclists, runners and walkers enjoying River Rd. Unfortunately for those not in a motorized vehicle the narrow winding road is hazardous. Granted, the speed limit varies from 20 mph to 30 mph throughout the entire stretch of road ...more »
What streets in your area need improvements to meet the needs of all users, e.g. pedestrians, wheelchairs, bicycles, buses, cars and trucks?
What modes of transportation are the most environmentally friendly?
A Path separated from motorized traffic normally by a curb for people to ride their bicycles safely.
What I'd like to see is for San Antonio to become a city like San Francisco or New York where it isn't necessary to own a car. We have a long way to go in terms of both transit systems and cultural attitudes before that can happen, if it ever does. Steps in that direction would include expanded bus service, streetcars, a light rail system that serves both downtown and outlying areas, and a marketing campaign to encourage ...more »
We need walking/biking lanes on Old Wiederstein. This is a dangerous, narrow road for walkers and runners. There are some wonderful sidewalks in Schertz & Cibolo, but I have to drive to them to get there.
What are the most traffic congested areas in San Antonio or Bexar County? How about Boerne, New Braunfels or Seguin?
It seems to me that we have large newly constructed areas such as Stone Oak that were sold to people who did not realize what a congestion problem they were buying into. If we provided more information that might improve the outcomes for future development. What information am I talking about? Have a home buyers' web site that has a map showing areas where the arterial roads are adequate vs. inadequate for the platted ...more »
To enhance the pollution control and decrease fossil gas consumption. Would it be better if the public transportation caters to the need outside of the loop. By creating a route along the main thoroughfare like 10, and 281 up to the border back to the downtown area. Where commuters can access.
do we need to wait until a cyclist is hit before re-installing the east and west bound bike lanes at 1604 and US 281 N. ? same thing on Evans near Green Mountain - why were the east / west bike lanes removed?
Nice job with the new Bulverde section from 1604 to Evans.
I urge the MPO to consider the preservation of rural communities. Not everyone wants hike/bike trail along the roads they use on a daily basis. Some of us live in rural communities SPECIFICALLY to be away from these types of services. I urge the MPO to consider this and preserve the rural portions of the newly adopted counties. Please continue to make the urbanized areas as transportation friendly as possible and encourage ...more »
